3. bhagavAn etad avocat : iha subhUte bodhisattva-yAna-samprasthitena=evaM cittaMutpAddayitavyam : yAvantaH subhUte sattvAH sattvadhAtau sattva-samgraheNa saMgRhItAaNDa-jA vA jarAyu-jA vA saMsveda-jA vaupapAdukA vA, rUpiNo vA=arUpiNo vA,saMjJino vA=asaMjJino vA na=eva saMjJino na=asaMjJino vA, yAvan (read yAvAn) kazcitsattvadhAtu-prajJapyamANaH prajJApyate, te ca mayA sarve ’nupadhizeSe [p. 29]nirvANa-dhAtau parinirvApayitavyAH. evaM aparimANan (read aparimANAn) api sattvAnparinirvApya na kazcit sattvaH parinirvApito bhavati. tat kasya hetoH? sacet subhUtebodhisattvasya sattva-saMjJA pravarteta, na sa bodhisattva iti vaktavyaH. tat kasya hetoH nasa subhUte bodhisattvo vaktavyo yasya=Atma-saMjJA pravarteta, sattva-saMjJA vAjIva-saMjJA vA pudgala-saMjJA vA pravarteta.
4. apit tu khalu punaH subhUte na bodhisattvena vastu-pratiSThitena dAnaM dAtavyam, nakvacit pratiSThitena dAnaM dAtavyam, na rUpa-pratiSThitena dAnaM dAtavyam, nazabda-dandha-rasa-spraSTaya-dharmeSu pratiSThitena dAnaM dAtavyam. evaM hi subhUtebodhisattvena mahAsattvena dAnaM dAtavyaM yathA na nimitta-saMjJAyAm api pratitiSThet.tat kasya hetoH? yaH subhUte ’pratiSThito dAnaM dadAti, tasya subhUte puNya-skandhasyana sukaraM pramANam udgrahItum. tat kiM manyase subhUte sukaraM pUrvasyAM dizyAkAzasya pramANam udgrahItum?
subhUtir Aha : no hi=idaM bhagavAn (read bhagavan).
bhagavAn Aha : evam dakSiNa-pazcima-uttara-Asvadha-UrdhvaM digvidikSu samantAddazasu dikSu sukaram AkAzasya pramANam udgrahItum?

[p. 30] bhagavAn Aha : evam eva subhUte yo bodhisattvo ’pratiSThito dAnaM dadAti,tasya subhUte puNya-skandhasya na sukaraM pramANam udgrahItum. evaM hi subhUtebodhisattva-yAna-samprasthitena dAnaM dAtavyaM yathA na nimita-saMjJAyAm apipratitiSThet.
5. tat kiM manyase subhUte lakSaNa-sampadA tathAgato draSTavyaH?
subhUtir Aha : no hi=idaM bhagavanz na lakSaNa-sampadA tathAgato draSTavyaHM tatkasya hetoH? yA sA bhagavan lakSaNa-sampat tathAgatena bhASitAsA=eva=alakSaNa-sampat. evam ukte bhagavAn AyuSmantaM subhUtim etad avocat : yAvatsubhUte lakSaNa-sampat tAvan mRSA, yAvad alakSaNa-sampat tAvan na mRSA=iti hilakSaNa-alakSaNatas tathAgato draSTavyaH.
6. evam ukte AyuSmAn subhUtir bhagavantam etad avocat : asti bhagavan kecit sattvAbhaviSyanty anAgate ’dhvani pazcime kAle samaye pazcimAyAM paJca-zatyAMsad-dharma-vipralopa-kAle vartamAne, ya imeSv evaMrUpeSu sUtrAnta-padeSubhASyamANeSu bhUta-saMjJAm utpAdayiSyanti?
bhagavAn Aha : mA subhUte tvam evaM vocaH. asti kecit sattvA bhaviSyanty anAgate’dhvani pazcime kAle pazcime samaye pazcimAyAM paJcazatyAM sad-dharma-vipralopevartamAnez ya imeSv evaMrUpeSu sUtrAntapadeSu bhASyamANeSu bhUta-saMjJAmutpAdayiSyanti. api tu khalu punaH subhUte bhaviSyanty anAgate ’dhvani bodhisattvAmahAsattvAH pazcime kAle pazcime samaye pazcimAyAM paJca-zatyAMsad-dharma-vipralope [p. 31] varatamAne guNavantaH zIlavantaH prajJavantaz cabhaviSyanti, ya imeSv evaMrUpeSu sUtrAnta-padeSu bhASyamANeSu bhUtasaMjJam (readbhUtasaMjJAm) utpAdayiSyantiM na khalu punas te subhUte bodhisattvA mahAsattvAeka-buddha-paryupAsitA bhaviSyanti, na=eka-buddha-avaropita-kuzala-mUlA bhaviSyanti,api tu khalu punaH subhUte aneka-buddha-zatasahasra-paryupAsitAaneka-buddha-zatasahasra-avaropita-kuzala-mUlAs te bodhisattvA mahAsattvA bhaviSyantizya imeSv evaMrUpeSu sUtrAnta-padeSu bhASyamAneSv eka-citta-prasAdam apipratilapsyanteM jJAtAs te subhUte tathAgatena buddha-jJAnena, dRSTAs te subhUtetathAgatena buddha-cakSuSA, buddhAs te subhUte tathAgatena. sarve te subhUte’prameyam asamkhyeyaM puNyaskandhaM prasaviSyanti pratigrahISyanti. tat kasya hetoH? nahi subhUte teSAM bodhisattvAnAM mahAsattvAnAm Atma-saMjJA pravartate. na=api teSAMsubhUte bodhisattvAnAM mahAsattvAnAM dharma-saMjJA pravartate, evaMna=adharma-saMjJAM. na=api teSAM subhUte saMjJA na=asaMjJA pravartate. tat kasyahetoH? sacet subhUte teSAM bodhisattvAnAM mahAsattvAnAM dharma-saMjJA pravarteta, saeva teSAm Atma-grAho bhavet, sattva-grAhaH pudgala-grAho bhavet. sacedadharma-saMjJA pravarteta, sa eva teSAm Atma-grAho bhavet, sattva-grAho jIva-grAhaHpudgala-grAha [p. 32] iti. tat kasya hetoH? na khalu punaH subhUte bodhisattvenamahAsattvena dharma udgrahItavyo na=adharmaH. tasmAd iyaM tathAgatena sandhAya vAgbhASitA : kolopamaM dharma-paryAyam ajAnadbhir dharmA eva prahAtavyAH prAgeva=adharmA iti.
7. punar aparaM bhagavAn AyuSmantaM subhUtim etad avocat : tat kiM manyase subhUte,asti sa kazcid dharmo yas tathAgatena=anuttarA samyaksambodhir ity abhisambuddhaH,kazcid vA dharmas tathAgatena dezitaH?
evam ukta AyuSmAn subhUtir bhagavantam etad avocat : yathA=aham bhagavan bhagavatobhASitasya=artham AjAnAmi, na=asti sa kazcid dharmo yas tathAgatena=anuttarAsamyaksambodhir ity abhisambuddhaH, na=asti dharmo yas tathAgatena dezitaH. tat kasyahetoH ? yo ’sau tathAgatena dharmo ’bhisambuddho dezito vA, agrAhyaH so ’nabhilapyaH,[p. 33] na sa dharmo na=adharmaH. tat kasya hetoH ? asaMskRta-prabhAvitA hyArya-pudgalAH.
8. bhagavAn Aha : tat kiM manyase subhUte yaH kazcit kulaputro vA kuladuhitA vA=imaMtrisAhasramahAsAhasram lokadhAtuM sapta-ratnaparipUrNaM kRtvA tathAgatebhyo ’rhadbhyaH samyaksambuddhebhyo dAnaM dadyAt, api nu sa kulaputro vA kuladuhitA vA tatonidAnaM bahutaraM puNya-skandham prasunuyAt ?
subhUtir Aha : bahu bhagavan bahu sugata sa kulaputro vA kuladuhitA vA tato nidAnaMpuNya-skandhaM prasunuyAt. tat kasya hetoH ? yo ’sau bhagavan puNya-skandhastathAgatena bhASitaHz a-skandhaH sa tathAgatena bhASitaH. tasmAt tathAgato bhASate :puNya-skandhaH puNya-skandha iti.
bhagavAn Aha : yaz ca khalu punaH subhUte kulaputro vA khuladuhitA vA=imaMtrisAhasramahAsAhasraM lokadhAtuM sapta-ratna-paripUrNaM kRtvA tathAgatebhyo’rhadbhyaH samyaksambuddhebhyo dAnaM dadyAt, yaz ca=ito dharma-paryAyAd antazazcatuSpAdikAm api gAthAm udgRhya prebhyo vistareNa dezayet samprakAzayed, ayam evatato nidAnaM bahutaraM puNya-skandhaM prasunuyAd aprameyam asaMkhyeyam. tat kasyahetoH ? ato nirjAtA hi subhUte tathAgatAnAm arhatAM samyaksambuddhAnAm anuttarAsamyaksambodhir, ato nirjAtAz ca buddhA bhagavantaH. tat kasya hetoH ? buddhadharmAbuddhadharmA iti subhUte ’buddhadharmAz ca=eva te tathAgatena bhASitAH. tena=ucyantebuddhadharmA iti.
9a) tat kiM manyase subhUte, api nu [p. 34] srota-Apannasya=evaM bhavati : mayAsrota-Apatti-phalaM prAptam iti ?
subhUtir Aha : no hi=idaM bhagavan, na srota-Apannasya=evaM bhavati : mayAsrota-Apatti-phalaM prAptam iti. tat kasya hetoH ? na na hi sa bhagavan kaMcid dharmamApannaH. tena=ucyate srota-Apanna iti. na rUpam Apanno na zabdAn na gandhAn narasAn na spraSTavyAn na dharmAn ApannaH. tena=ucyate srota-Apanna iti. saced bhagavansrota-Apannasya=evaM bhavet : mayA srota-Apatti-phalaM prAptam iti, sa evatasya=Atma-grAho bhavet sattva-grAho jIva-grAhaH pudgala-grAho bhaved iti.
9b) bhagavAn AHa : tat kiM manyase subhUte, api nu sakRdAgAmina evaM bhavati AmayA sakRdAgAmi-phalaM prAptam iti ?
subhUtir AHa : no hi=idaM bhagavan, na sakRdAgAmina evaM bhavati : mayAsakRdAgAmi-phalaM prAptam iti. tat kasya hetoH ? na hi sa kazcid dharmo yaHsakRdAgAmitvam ApannaH. tena=ucyate sakRdAgAmi=iti.
9c) bhagavAn Aha : tat kiM manyase subhUte, api nu anAgAmina evaM bhavati :mayA=anAgAmi-phalaM prAptam iti ?
subhUtir Aha : no hi=idaM bhagavan, na=anAgAmina evaM bhavati :mayA=anAgAmi-phalaM prAptam iti. tat kasya hetoH ? na hi sa bhagavan kazcid dharmoyo ’nAgAmitvam ApannaH. tena=ucyate ’nAgAmi=iti.
9d) bhagavAn Aha : tat kiM manyase subhUte, api nv arhata evaM bhavati :mayA=arhattvaM prAptam iti ?
[p. 35] subhUtir Aha : no hi=idaM bhagavanz na=arhata evaM bhavati : mayA=arhattvaMprAptam iti. tat kasya hetoH ? na hi sa bhagavan kazcid dharmo yo ’rhan nAma.tena=ucyate ’rhann iti. saced bhagavann arhata evaM bhavet : mayA=arhattvaM prAptam iti,sa eva tasya=Atma-grAho bhavet sattva-grAho jIva-grAhaH pudgala-grAho bhavet.
9e) tat kasya hehoH ? aham asmi bhagavaMs tathAgatena=arhatAsamyaksambuddhena=araNA-vihAriNAm agryo nirdiSTaH. aham asmi bhagavann arhanvItarAga iti. sacen mama bhagavann evaM bhavet : mayA=arhattvaM prAptam iti, na mAMtathAgato vyAkariSyat : araNA-vihAriNAm agryaH subhUtiH kula-putro na kvacid viharati,tena=ucyate ’raNA-vihAry araNA-vihAri=iti.
10a) bhagavAn Aha : tat kiM manyase subhUte, asti sa kazcid dharmo yas tathAgatenadIpaGkarasya tathAgatasya=arhataH samyaksambuddhasya-antikAd udgRhItaH ?
subhUtir Aha : no hi=idaM bhagavan, na=asti sa kazcid dharmo yas tathAgatenadIpaGkarasya tathAgatasya=arhataH samyaksambuddhasya=antikAd udgRhItaH.
10b) bhagavAn Aha : yaH kazcit subhUte bodhisattva evaM vadet : ahaM kSetra-vyUhAnniSpAdayiSyAmi=iti, sa vitathaM vadet. tat kasya hetoH ? kSetra-vyUhAH kSetra-vyUhA itisubhUte, ’vyUhAs te tathAgatena bhASitAH. tena=ucyante kSetra-vyUhA iti.
10c) tasmAt tarhi subhUte bodhisattvena mahAsattvena=evam apratiSThitaM cittamutpAdayitavyaM [p. 36] yan na kvacit-pratiSThitaM cittam utpAdayitavyam, narUpa-pratiSThitaM cittam utpAdayitavyaM nazabda-gandha-rasa-spraSTavya-dharma-pratiSThitaM cittam utpAdayitavyam. tad yathA=apinAma subhUte puruSo bhaved upeta-kAyo mahA-kAyo yat tasya=evaMrUpa Atma-bhAvaHsyAt tad yathA=api nAma sumeruH parvata-rAjA, tat kiM manyase subhUte api nu mahAnsa Atmabhavo bhavet ?
subhUtir Aha : mahAn sa bhagavan mahAn sugata sa Atma-bhAvo bhavet. tat kasya hetoH? Atma-bhAva Atma-bhAba iti bhagavann a-bhAvaH sa tathAgatena bhASitaH.tena=ucyate=Atma-bhAva iti. na hi bhagavan sa bhAvo na=abhAvaH.tena=ucayate=Atma-bhAva iti.
11. bhagavAn Aha : tat kiM manyase subhUte yAvatyo gaGgAyAM mahAnadyAM vAlukAstAvatya eva gaGga-nadyo bhaveyuH, tAsu yA vAlukA api nu tA bahavyo bhaveyuH ?
subhUtir Aha : tA eva tAvad bhagavan bahavyo gaGgA-nadyo bhaveyuH, prAg eva yAstAsu gaGgA-nadISu vAlukAH.
bhagavAn Aha : ArocayAmi te subhUte prativedayAmi te yAvatyas tAsu gaGgA-nadISuvAlukA baveyus, tAvato lokadhAtUn kazcid eva strI vA puruSo vA sapta-ratna-paripUrNaMkRtvA tathAgatebhyo ’rhadbhyaH samyaksambuddhebhyo dAnaM dadyAt, tat kiM manyasesubhUte, api nu sA strI vA puruSo vA tato nidAnaM bahu puNya-skandhaM prasunuyAt ?
[p. 37] subhUtir Aha : bahu bhagavan bahu sugata strI vA puruSo vA tato nidAnaMpuNya-skandhaM prasunuyAd aprameyam asaMkhyeyam.
bhagavAn Aha : yaz ca khalu punaH subhUte srI vA puruSo vA tAvato loka-dhAtUnsapta-ratna-paripUrNaM kRtvA tathAgatebhyo ’rhadbhyaH samyaksambuddhebhyo dAnaMdadyAt, yaz ca kulaputro vA kuladuhitA vA=ito dharma-paryAyAd antazaz catuSpAdikAmapi gAthAm udgRhya parebhyo dezayet samprakAzayed, ayam eva tato nidAnaM bahutaraMpuNya-skandhaM prasunuyAd aprameyam asaMkhyeyam.
12. api tu khalu punaH subhUte yasmin pRthivI-pradeza ito dharma-paryAyAd antazazcatuSpAdikAm api gAthAm udgRhya bhASyeta vA samprakAzyeta vA, sa pRthivI-pradezazcaitya-bhUto bhavet sa-deva-mAnuSa-asurasya lokasya, kaH punar vAdo ya imaMdharma-prayAyaM sakala-samAptaM dhArayiSyanti vAcayiSyanti paryavApsyanti parebhyaz cavistareNa samprakAzayiSyantiz parameNa te subhUte AzcaryeNa samanvAgatA bhaviSyanati.tasmiMz ca subhUte pRthivI-pradeze zAstA viharaty anyatara=anyataro vAvijJaguru-sthAnIyaH.
13a) evam ukata AyuSmAn subhUtir bhagavantam etad avocat : ko nAma=ayaM bhagavandharma-paryAyAH, kathaM ca=enaM dhArayAmi ?
evam ukte bhagavAn AyuSmantaM subhUtim etad avocat : prajJApAramitA nAma=ayaMsubhUte dharma-paryAyAH, evaM ca=enaM dhAraya. tat kasya hetoH ? yA=eva subhUteprajJApAramitA [p.38] tathAgatena bhASitA sA=eva=a-pAramitA tathAgatena bhASitA.tena=ucyate prajJApAramitA=iti.
13b) tat kiM manyase subhUte api nv asti sa kazcid dharmo yas tathAgatena bhASitaH ?
subhUtir Aha : no hi=idaM bhagavanz na=asti sa kazcid dharmo yas tathAgatena bhASitaH.
13c) bhagavAn Aha : tat kiM manyase subhUte, yAvat trisAhasramahAsAhasre loka-dhAtaupRthivI-rajaH kaccit tad bahu bhavet ?
subhUtir Aha : bahu bhagavana bahu sugata pRthivI-rajo bhavet. tat kasya hetoH ? yat tadbhagavan pRthivIrajas tathAgatena bhASitam a-rajas tad bhagavaMs tathAgatena bhASitam.tena=ucyate pRthivI-raja itiM yo ’py asau loka-dhAtus tathAgatena bhASito ’dhAtuH satathAgatena bhASitaH. tena=ucyate lokadhAtur iti.
13d) bhagavAn Aha : tat kiM manyase subhUte dvAtriMzat-mahApuruSa-lakSaNaistathAgato ’rhan samyaksambuddho draSTavyaH ?
subhUtir Aha : no hi=idaM bhagavan, na dvAtriMzat-mahApuruSa-lakSaNais tathAgato ’rhansamyaksambuddho draSTavyaH. tat kasya hetoH ? yAni hi tAni bhagavandvAtriMzat-mahApuruSa-lakSaNAni tathAgatena bhASitAni, alakSaNAni tAni bhagavaMstathAgatena bhASitAni. tena=ucyante dvAtriMzat-mahApuruSa-lakSaNAni=iti.
[p. 39] 13e) bhagavAn Aha : yaz ca khalu punaH subhUte strI vA puruSo vA dine dinegaGgA-nadI-vAlukA-samAn Atma-bhAvAn parityajet, evaM parityajangaGgA-nadI-vAlukA-samAn kalpAMs tAn Atma-bhAvAn parityajet, yaz ca=itodharma-paryAyAd antazaz catuSpAdikAm api gAthAm udgRhya parebhyo dezayetsamprakAzayed, ayam eva tato nidAnaM bahutaraM puNya-skandhaM prasunuyAdaprameyam asamkhyeyam.
14a) atha khalv AyuSmAn subhUtir dharma-vegena-azrUNi prAmuJcatz so ’zrUNi pramRjyabhagavantam etad avocat : AzcaryaM bhagavan parama-AzcaryaM sugata, yAvad ayaMdharma-paryAyas tathAgatena bhASito, agra-yAna-saMprasthitAnAM sattvAnAm arthAyazreSTha-yAna-saMprasthitAnAM arthAya, yato me bhagavaJ jJAnam utpannam. na mayAbhagavaJ jAtv evaMrUpo dharmaparyAyaH zruta-pUrvaH. parameNa te bhagavannAzcaryeNa samanvAgatA bodhisattvA bhaviSyanti ya iha sUtre bhASyamANe zrutvAbhUta-saMjJAm utpAdayiSyanti. tat kasya hetoH ? yA ca=eSA bhagavan bhUta-saMjJAsA=eva=abhUta-saMjJA. tasmAt tathAgato bhASate bhUta-saMjJA bhUta-saMjJA=iti.
[p. 40] 14b) na mama bhagavan duSkaraM yad aham imaM dharma-paryAyaMbhASyamANam avakalpayAmy adhimucye. ye ’pi te bhagavan sattvA bhaviSyanty anAgate’dhvani pazcime kAle pazcime samaye pazcimAyAM paJca-zatyAM sad-dharma-vipralopevartamAne, ya imaM bhagavan dharma-paryAyam udgrahISyanti dhArayiSyanti vAcayiSyantiparyavApsyanti parebhyaz ca vistareNa samprakAzayiSyanti, te parama-AzcaryeNasamanvAgatA bhaviSyanti.

27. tat kiM manyase subhUte lakSaNa-sampadA tathAgatena=anuttarA samyaksambodhirabhisambuddhA ? na khalu punas te subhUte evaM draSTavyaM. tat kasya hetoH ? na hisubhUte lakSaNa-sampadA tathAgatena=anuttarA samyaksambodhir abhisambuddhA syAt. nakhalu punas te subhUte kazcid evaM vadet : bodhisattva-[p. 58]yAna-samprasthitaihkasyacid dharmasya vinAzaH prajJpta ucchedo vA=iti. na khalu punas te subhUte evaMdraSTavyam. tat kasya hetoH ? na bodhisattva-yAna-samprasthitaiH kasyacid dharmasyavinAzaH prajJapto na=ucchedaH.
28. yaz ca khalu punaH subhUte kulaputro vA kuladuhitA vA gaGgAnadI-vAlukA-samAMllokadhAtUn sapta-ratna-apripUrNAn kRtvA tathAgatebhyo ’rhadbhyaHsamyaksambuddhebhyo dAnaM dadyAt, yaz ca bodhisattvo nirAtmakeSv anutpattikeSudharmeSu kSAntiM pratilabhate, ayam eva tato nidAnaM bahutaraM puNya-skandhaHprasaved aprameyam asamkhyeyam. na khalu punaH subhUte bodhisattvena mahAsattvenapuNya-skandhaH parigrahItavyaH.
AyuSmAn subhUtir Aha : nanu bhagavan bodhisattvena puNya-skandhaH parigrahItavyaH ?
bhagavAn Aha : parigrahItavyaH subhUte na=udgrahItavyaH.

29. api tu khalu punaH subhUte yaH kazcid evaM vadet : tathAgato gacchati vA=AgacchativA, tiSTati vA niSIdati vA zayyAM vA kalpayati, na me subhUte sa bhASitasya=arthamAjAnAti. tat kasya hetoH ? tathAgata iti subhUte ucyate na kvacid-gato na kutazcidAgataH. tena=ucyate tathAgato ’rhan samyaksambuddha iti.
30a) yaz ca khalu punaH subhUte kulaputro vA kuladuhitA vA yAvantastrisAhasra-mahAsAhasre lokadhAtau pRthivI-rajAMsi tAvatAM lokadhAtUnAm evaMrUpaMmaSiM kuryAt yAvad evam asaMkyeyena vIryeNa tad yathA=api nAmaparamANu-saMcayaH, tat kiM manyase subhUte api nu bahuH sa paramANu-saMcayo bhavet? subhUtir Aha : evam etat bhagavann, evam etat sugata, bahuH sa paramANu-saMcayobhavet. tat kasya hetoH ? saced bhagavan bahuH paramANu-saMcayo ’bhaviSyat, nabhagavan avakSyat paramANu-saMcaya iti. tat kasya hetoH ? yo ’sau bhagavanparamANu-saMcayas [p. 60] tathAgatena bhASitaH, a-saMcayaH sa tathAgatena bhASitaH.tena=ucyate paramANu-saMcaya iti.
30b) yaz ca tathAgatena bhASitas trisAhasramahAsAhasro lokadhAtur iti, a-dhAtuH satathAgatena bhASitaH. tena=ucyate trisAhasramahAsAhasro lokadhAtur iti. tat kasya hetoH ?saced bhagavan loka-dhAtur abhaviSyat, sa eva piNDa-grAha iti. bhagavAn Aha :piNDa-grAhas tathAgatena bhASitaH. tena=ucyate piNDa-grAha iti. bhagavAn Aha :piNDa-grAhaz ca=eva subhUte ’vyavahAro ’nabhilapyaH. na sa dharmo na=adharmaH, sa cabAlapRthagjanair udgRhItaH.
31a) tat kasya hetoH ? yo hi kazcit subhUte evaM vadet : Atma-dRSTis tathAgatenabhASitA sattva-dRSTir jIva-dRSTiH pudgala-dRStis tathAgatena bhASitA, api nu sa subhUtesamyagvadamAno vadet ?
subhUtir Aha : no hi=idaM bhagavan no hi=idaM sugata, na samyag-vadamAno vadet. tatkasya hetoH ? yA sA bhagavann AtmadRSTis tathAgatena bhASitA, a-dRSTiH sAtathAgatena bhASitA. tena=ucyate=Atma-dRSTir iti.
31b) bhagavAn Aha : evaM hi subhUte bodhisattva-yAna-samprasthitena sarva-dharmAjJAtavyA draSTavyA [p. 61] adhimoktavyAH. tathA ca jJAtavyA draSTavyA adhimoktavyAHyathA na dharma-saMjJA pratyupasthAhe. tat kasya hetoH ? dharma-saMjJAdharma-saMjJA=iti subhUte a-saMjJA=eSA tathAgatena bhASitA. tena=ucyatedharma-saMjJA=iti.
32a) yaz ca khalu punaH subhUte bodhisattva mahAsattvo ’prameyAn asamkhyeyAMllokadhAtUn sapta-ratna-paripUrNaM kRtvA tathAgatebhyo ’rhadbhyaHsamyaksambuddhebhyo dAnaM dadyAt, yaz ca kulaputro vA kuladuhitA vA=itaHprajJApAramitAya dharma-paryAyAd antazaz catuSpAdikAm api gAthAm udgRhya dhArayeddezayed vAcayet paryavApnuyAt parebhyaz ca vistareNa samprakAzayed, ayam eva tatonidAnaM bahutaraM puNya-skandhaM prasunuyAd aprameyam asamkhyeyam. kathaM casamprakAzayet ? yathA na prakAzayet. tena=ucyate samprakAzayed iti.

32b) idam avocad bhagavAn. AttamanAH sthavira subhUtis, te cabhikSu-bhikSuNy-upAsakopAsikAs te ca bodhisattvAH sa-deva-mAnuSa-asura-gandharvaz caloko bhagavato bhASitam abhyanandann iti.
